Hello everyone. How was your weekend?
I decided to upgrade this simple beige bag by making a leather applique on it. I loved this picture with a mysterious lady in red going somewhere away. I personally like this bag transformation. You can see the details below.
For this makeover you need:
Any light colored handbag
A piece of oxy blood faux leather
A piece of lipstick red leather
A small piece of dark beige felt
A little bit of brown leather
Optional: Chains with leather for extra décor
Glue - it can be mosaic glue or gorilla, the only problem with gorilla - it can leave spots on the leather and felt, so be careful.
And last but not least - the actual picture printed out.
Cut the picture into details: hat, face and dress separately, legs and shoes separately. Trace all of them onto the back of each leather piece and glue to the bag. Trace the legs and face onto the beige felt, cut them and then glue to the bag. Then cut the sleeves from the dress (from paper template) and trace them to the red leather and glue them on top of oxy blood sleeves. Also cut the lower part of the paper template hat, trace it to the red leather and glue at the same lower part of the hat. Do the same with luggage - making it two colors. Trace umbrella onto oxy blood leather, cut and glue it. The rest is to cut out her tiny fingers from beige felt and small pretty lips from the red or oxy blood leather. Done.
Optional: I added chains/oxy blood leather to each side of the bag - I think it completes the whole look of this bag. And I changed the regular handle to the loop handle.
