DIY sweater applique

Hello everyone! Today's post is a DIY fruit sweater applique  This beautiful pattern I cut from the kitchen towel - I saw it in the store and got an idea of making this applique on my old pink sweater. Complete DIY is at the end of this post.

For this DIY I used:
Kitchen towel for pattern:

I cut the pattern and glued it to the sweater:

Then I cut thin stripes of green and red felt:

I glued stripes around the edges of the pattern to secure the edges and to prevent the threads from the fabric  to come out. When they were glued, I sewed the felt  around, like this:
